Meddling in New York?
Most New Yorkers don’t like the Obama administration’s pressuring of New York’s Governor David Paterson, as reported in today’s The Buffalo News and elsewhere. But only 17% of New Yorker’s approve of Governor Paterson and Attorney General Andrew Cuomo will almost certainly be the nominee next year.
In other words, who cares? It’s a reflection that a lot of people don’t know that this is not unusual when you have a very unpopular politician who has offended his own base. Prediction here: Cuomo defeats Lazio in New York next year. If Rudy gets in, Lazio’s out as the nominee. But I’m not sure Rudy wants it – he’s making too much money and there’s no stepping-stone scenario since Rudy flamed out in his 2008 presidential run (at a time when the his iron in the Republican fire was as hot as it will ever be).
